SUSSEX qualified for this year’s C&G Trophy final following Friday night’s five wicket win over Hampshire ensuring that only pride and local bragging rights will be at stake in Kent’s final two Southern Conference qualifiers.

Essex provide the opposition at the St Lawrence ground in Canterbury this Sunday for Kent’s final home game in this season's re-vamped event.

Skipper Rob Key has all his big guns to select from but seems likely to name the same side to have beaten Ireland and Sussex at Tunbridge Wells and Glamorgan in Cardiff last week, with spinners Min Patel and James Tredwell playing a big part in restricting the mid-innings run-rate.

Young South African-born batsman Neil Dexter, who plays as an English-qualified player courtesy of a paternal grandfather from Richmond, will again open the innings having scored his maiden limited overs century at Sophia Gardens last weekend.

Sunday’s clash with Essex Eagles starts at 10.45am and Kent will wrap up their qualifiers next Sunday, June 25 when they take on Middlesex at Lord’s.

Kent from: Dexter, Stevens, Hall, Key, van Jaarsveld, Kemp, Walker, Tredwell, O’Brien, Patel, Khan, Cook, Denly.
