Kent batsman quashes exit rumours

ROB KEY: "I'm not in the business of talking to anyone about a move"

KENT and England batsman Rob key has moved to quash speculation linking him with a move away from Canterbury.

Saturday’s Times speculated that Key was wanted at newly promoted Lancashire but, according to the player at least, nothing could be further from the truth.

Key said: "As far as I’m concerned it’s a bit of rumour mongering. I have got some good friends at Old Trafford, people know I’m fairly good mates with Andrew Flintoff, but I’m not in the business of talking to anyone about a move and have no intention of doing so.

"I’m about to finish the first year of a three-year contract at Kent and doing well for the club is my first priority."

In the meantime Key is awaiting a date for surgery to niggling shoulder and groin injuries before linking up with the ECB Academy squad for their five-week, two Test England A tour of the West Indies starting in mid-February.
