Kent v Hampshire

DEPOSED England wicketkeeper Geraint Jones will make only his second championship appearance of the season for Kent in today’s start to their Canterbury Festival Week championship clash with Hampshire.

Jones, axed from the Test side after 31 straight appearances, replaces his understudy Niall O’Brien – representing the only change to the 11 that beat Lancashire in their last Liverpool Victoria division 1 outing.

Hampshire will select from a squad of 12 that includes skipper Shane Warne, fit again after shoulder surgery, and ex-Kent batsman Michael Carberry, who moved to the Rose Bowl during the close season.

The game is likely to attract a good crowd but, with limited car parking space for cricket week, club chiefs are` advising spectators to allow themselves more time than usual for their admittance.

Kent: Key, Fulton, van Jaarsveld, Stevens, Walker, Bravo, Jones, Henderson, Patel, Khan and Saggers. 12th-man Cusden.

Hampshire from: Warne, Carberry, Adams, Crawley, Benham, Thornely, Pothas, Ervine, Mascarenhas, Tremlett, Bruce and Udal.
