Striker Simeon Jackson is likely to miss Gillingham's trip to Macclesfield on Saturday.

The club's leading scorer failed to shake off his ankle injury in time for the midweek defeat at Lincoln when manager Mark Stimson admitted his absence was felt.

Stimson said: “Unfortunately he wasn’t quite ready and I don’t think he’ll be ready this weekend.

“The two games previously we haven’t missed him but against Lincoln we did. A player with that many goals so far is going to be missed.

“He would have been the one getting into the area and demanding that ball in there and looking a goal threat.”
