Bournemouth 1 Gillingham 1

GILLINGHAM held relegation threatened Bournemouth to a 1-1 draw at Dean Court on Saturday.

Results elsewhere meant survival for the home side but they hardly impressed against a hard working Gillingham side.

The first half was dominated by the Gills and they deservedly went ahead on 23 minutes, when Andrew Crofts headed home Craig Stone's cross.

Gillingham should have made their pressure count but failed to do so and Bournemouth capitalised.

With seconds left in the opening half James Hayter tucked away a low shot to level the scores.

The second half was less exciting and only Hayter's late chance looked worthy of winning the match, but he shot into the side netting, as both sides settled for a point.

Gillingham: Royce, Jackman, Cox, Chorley, Southall, Flynn, Crofts, Bentley, Easton (Jarvis 59), Spiller (Collin 83), Stone.
Subs Not Used: McDonald, Johnson, Sancho.
Attendance: 8,001.
