Gills "sorry" for errors in programme

GILLINGHAM Football Club apologised to supporters before and after Tuesday’s Nottingham Forest game for errors in the programme.

PA announcer Doug Hudson told fans the fact that chairman Paul Scally’s notes had not been changed from the Brighton game and the failure to update the league table page was the printers’ error.

On the official website, the club was keen to point out that most the programme is proof read at the club, but the chairman’s notes and tables are e-mailed later so they can be as up-to-date as possible.

The printers, Queensway Publishing, who also supplied some of the programmes with the cover on upside down, have apologised to the club for the embarrassment.

It could not have happened on a worse night as in his Forest notes Mr Scally expressed a warm welcome to his guest Frederic Avierinos, the visiting managing director of main sponsor SeaFrance.

Anyone not happy with the print quality of the programme, which is edited by the chairman’s son Adam, can call the club and arrange a swap as long as stocks last.
