Fleet's Wembley tune - hit or miss?

Beat the weather? Well, we hope they beat Torquay on May 10 at least, but that's the name of Ebbsfleet United's official song for their FA Trophy final at Wembley.

It features groundsman Peter Norton talking over the music about the club and using his "beat the weather" catchphrase.

Peter, the Fleet's groundsman for nine years, said he uses the phrase whenever he gives interviews for the club's website. Fleet is the first soccer club in the country to be owned by a website, MyFootballClub.

He said: "When I do interviews now it is going out to 72 countries and 32,000 members. I have always been a talker and I am kind of talking to them individually - like they are in a big family. I quite enjoy it now."

What does he think of Fleet's chances at Wembley on May 10? "We have already beaten Torquay. I think we have won 14 home games and drawn four. I'm really looking forward to it."

His verdict on the record? "I think it's marvellous really. It's so clever how they have put it to music - you have got the 'beat the weather' then the music comes in and the big beat. It's quite good."
