Lisa Dobriskey: "It's a missed opportunity"

Kent's Lisa Dobriskey missed out on an Olympic medal in Saturday's women's 1,500m final in Beijing.

The Ashford athlete finished strongly but had left herself too much to do having entered the final lap in seventh position.

She found herself boxed in and, although she made a charge towards the finish, she crossed the line in fourth place behind Kenya's Nancy Langat and Iryna Lishchynska and Nataliya Tobias, both of the Ukraine.

Dobriskey told the BBC: "It's a missed opportunity - what can I say? I'm just gutted really.

"With 500m to go I felt so relaxed and comfortable. I didn't want to go out too early and end up blowing out - but I left myself too much to do in the end.

"It's just one of those things I guess."
