Charlton Athletic 0 - 2 Chelsea

CHARLTON lost their 100 per cent record to champions Chelsea who completely dominated the second half at a sold out Valley on Saturday.

With a record crowd of 27,111 inside the ground, the Addicks were forced to play second best to a side who on this form are already on their way to a second title win.

They took the lead in the 55th minute when Hernan Crespo thrashed a header wide of goalkeeper Stephan Andersen after Mickael Essien had dispossessed Radostin Kishishev.

They increased their lead four minutes later when Arjen Robben picked his spot with a left-footed drive that gave Andersen no chance.

Charlton enjoyed their best moments in the first half but top scorer Darren Bent was given little chance to improve on his tally of five goals in four matches.

Charlton: Andersen, Young, Perry, Hreidarsson, Powell (Spector 70), Kishishev (Holland 68), Hughes, Murphy, Rommedahl, Thomas (Ambrose 67), Bent.
Subs Not Used: Myhre, Bartlett.
Attendance: 27,111.
