CHARLTON have had a £1million plus bid rejected by Burnley for their 13-goal leading scorer Andy Gray.

The club confirmed that the bid fell short of their valuation of the 30-year-old Scottish international.

Charlton manager Alan Pardew has made Gray his primary target and sees the player as more than capable of linking attacking play in the way long-term injury casualty Svetoslav Todorov did when he came to the club in the summer.

Gray is under contract at Turf Moor until the summer of 2009.
