Woman rescued after falling into three-ft ditch in Swanscombe

A woman had to be rescued after getting stuck in a three-foot ditch last night.

The accident happened in Leonard Avenue, Swanscombe, at about 10.45pm.

It involved emergency services including two fire engines, police, an ambulance and the hazardous area response team - specialists who have been trained to provide life-saving medical care in hostile environments.

Firefighters freed the woman, who had fallen into the three-foot trench and become stuck.

Once freed half-an-hour later, she was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
