Woman injured in car collision

A WOMAN was cut free from her car after a two vehicle collision.

Fire officers were called to the accident scene at the junction of the A274 and New Barn Road near Sutton Valance, Maidstone, at around 7.30pm on Thursday evening.

The woman was trapped in a Rover and had multiple injuries.

She was taken to hospital after the fire officers, who were at the scene for around 90 minutes, freed her from the car.

A police spokesman said her injuries were serious but not life threatening.

The other people involved in the accident were treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed for nearly two and a half hours, reopening at 10.15pm.
