A woman has denied child neglect after a toddler was left in a pushchair in a library.

The 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge at Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.

The girl - aged two or three - was found at Folkestone Library, in Grace Hill, when staff were locking up on February 22.

The woman, who now has a Folkestone address and cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded on conditional bail.

The case was adjourned for a case management hearing on March 26.

Magistrates made an order for the child not to be identified.
