Woman cut free from crash wreckage

A WOMAN had to be cut free by firefighters after the car she was driving struck the central reservation of the A2 on Friday.

Crews from were called to the incident on the coastbound carriagway at the Pepperhill-Northfleet turn-off at 11.40am.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the woman from the wreckage of a Ford Focus.

A spokesman from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

The incident caused significanct tailbacks in both directions. The air ambulance and police were also in attendance.
