White van driver may hold clues to fatal crash

A 39-year old man from Strood thrown out of his car after it overturned has died in hospital, police have revealed.

The accident happened at 4.40pm on Friday, May 16, near a roundabout at Ropers Lane/Ratcliffe Highway, Hoo.

The driver of the silver Peugeot 206 was ejected from the car in the single-car incident. He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where he was treated for serious head injuries. Sadly he died one week later in hospital.

Police have now launched an investigation and are keen to trace the driver of a white van (possibly a woman) travelling in the opposite direction around the time of the collision.
