Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller insists the players are right behind keeper Alan Julian despite the costly error on Saturday against Torquay.

Spiller said: "He has come in and held his hands up but in his position it’s the hardest position because it’s just one mistake, after having a solid game, and it’s costly.

"Take nothing away from him because he’s a great lad and a great character. We’ll just get behind him now to keep his head up for next weekend.

"There was a terrible atmosphere in the dressing room after the game. It was quiet. Jules has come in immediately and apologised.

"We know and he knows he’s made a mistake but we can’t overlook the saves he made in the first half.

"He kept us in the games at times. He doesn’t need telling. He’s a good, honest professional."
