UPDATE: Cyclist dies after colliding with lorry

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died on Saturday.

The incident occurred on the east-bound carriageway of the A228 Snodland bypass at 2pm.

Officers believe the cyclist, a 55-year-old man from Strood, collided with a stationary lorry.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

DS Scott Lynch from the serious collision investigation unit said: "This collision occurred on a fine dry afternoon, the rider was wearing a bright orange shirt and on a yellow racing bike, so I am hopeful that someone saw him prior to or at the time of this collision"
