Trust: We don't need private experts to run our hospitals

Bosses at a "weak" hospital trust in Kent claim its hospitals will not be put under private management under new proposals.

The Government is thinking about replacing managers at "failing" hospitals with experts from the private sector.

It is thought that 20 trusts branded weak by the Healthcare Commission - including the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust - will be considered for the move.

But a spokesman at the trust said: "We have no reason at all to believe this trust will be subject to a management change."
