Tributes pour in for tragic biker

Tributes have poured in from around the world for a motorbiker killed in front of 100,000 spectators at Brands Hatch.

Motorcyclist Craig Jones died after suffering serious head injuries in an accident during Sunday's World Superbike championship.

Craig Jones collided with another rider after appearing to lose control and falling from his Honda bike.

The 23-year-old from Cheshire was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital but died from his injuries in the early hours of Monday morning.

Maidstone mum Cathy Brignall's family were at the circuit when the tragic accident happened.

She said in our Speakout section: "So sorry to hear the sad news of Craig Jones's death.

"Our thoughts go to his family and friends.

"My husband,son and in-laws,were at Brands Hatch on Sunday and were in the viewing area near to where it happened.

"Everyone just suddenly stood up in complete silence when it happened,as if they knew it was serious."

Melissa Drake, of Buckinghamshire, said: "R.I.P craig

"I've known you a long time and it was only yesterday you blew me a kiss.

"It really isn't going to be the same without you!!

"I still can't believe you have gone!"

Gianni Gimax, of Milan, Italy, added his condolences.

He said: "I admired him very much and I feel so sorry for his family and for the motorbike world.

"As an italian, I was seeing him as the best Fogarty or the best Pasolini. Ciao Craig!"
