Traffic tailed back four junctions of the M25 this morning after a six-vehicle crash.

A lorry and five cars were involved in the collision just after 7.25am on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 near Wrotham.

Two of the drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Darent Valley Hospital for treatment. Traffic is said to have tailed back to the Darenth Interchange, just short of the Dartford Crossing.

There was some congestion as lanes one and two were closed temporarily while two of the vehicles were recovered, but lane three remained open.

The road was fully re-opened shortly before 9am.

The cause of the collision is not yet known.
