Teenager killed in train tragedy

ONE teenager was killed by a train and another was severely injured in an incident at a Kent railway station on Wednesday night.

British Transport Police are investigating how the boys, both aged 16, came to be on the 'down line' when the 9.15pm Blackfriars to Sevenoaks train reached Shoreham station just after 10pm.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured boy was taken to Darenth Valley Hospital and the train driver was treated for shock.

A Southeastern trains spokeswoman said buses replaced the service between Blackfriars and Sevenoaks.
