Teenage biker found dead in road

POLICE have issued an appeal after a 16-year-old motorcyclist was found dead in a Kent village on Monday night.

The boy was found by a passer-by lying in Crockham Road, Hernhill, which is between Faversham and Whitstable, at around 10.10pm.

He was pronounced dead at Margate's QEQM Hospital.

Police say they believe he was riding on the London-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way when his Peugeot moped initially left the road just before the Fostall junction.

He was then later found in Crockham Road.
