A primary school was evacuated today as firefighters tackled a blaze in a nearby workshop.

Around 15 firefighters were called to a car fire in Powder Mill Lane, Southborough, at about 12.10pm.

Parents were asked to collect children from nearby St Matthew's Primary School as a precaution.

The school said it plans to open as normal tomorrow.
