Pyjamas rather than swimsuits were the order of the day for instructors of the Sheerness Swimming Club and Lifeguard Corps, who raised money for the Children in Need appeal.

Members of the club gave up their normal swimming session on Thursday night and instead took part in games and activities organised by small pool instructor Laura-May Dolan.

Laura-May and Ann-Marie Crowder, the club's Learn to swim instructor, went around the poolside in their pyjamas and collected donations from parents, pool staff and others.

Anne-Marie was even pushed into the pool by her class to raise even more cash for the cause.

The activities raised £92.

Laura-May said: "It was a great deal of fun and thank you to all who donated. We raised more money than I had expected, we are now looking forward to next year's appeal."
