Tonbridge Angels overcame Carshalton Athletic 4-0 on Saturday to boost their Ryman League Premier Division play-off hopes.

Carl Rook opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time and Ade Olorunda (pictured) doubled the advantage nine minutes into the second half.

Substitute Adrian Stone then came off the bench to make the game safe with a third 11 minutes from time before grabbing his second in stoppage time.

Angels are second, but only ahead of the two teams below them on goal difference, with the teams from 5th to 9th only separated by four points.

With Sutton United already crowned champions, the next four teams will earn a play-off spot.

Cray Wanderers went 10th after a superb win over play-off chasing Bury Town 2-1 on Sunday, but need a miracle to reach the play-offs.

John Guest lashed the opener on 21 minutes and Leigh Bremner curled a delightful second before the break, with former £1m Ipswich and Leicester man Jamie Scowcroft sent-off for the visitors for an elbow.

Bury pulled a goal back 10 minutes from time but Wands held on to go effectively eight points behind the final play-off spot with three games remaining.

Tom Bradbrook rescued a point for Margate, who climbed to 15th after a 1-1 draw at relegation-battling Aveley.

The hosts opened the scoring from a hotly-debated penalty from Kenny Beany shortly after the start of the second-half but Bradbrook pounced to level six minutes later after Craig Cloke's shot from a corner was blocked.

Folkestone Invicta were relegated after their 2-0 defeat at Kingstonian on Saturday while Maidstone United lived to fight another day with a 2-0 home win over Concord Rangers.
