A 28-year-old man died in a crash on the M20.

Police closed the coastbound carriageway of the motorway near junctions two to three after the one-vehicle smash at midday on Saturday.

An appeal has now been launched asking for people who witnessed the smash to come forward.

Police have confirmed the man who died came from Catford, south east London and he was a passenger. A blue Ford Fiesta collided with a safety barrier. No other vehicles were thought to be involved.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been bailed whilst investigations continue.

Traffic was diverted onto the A20, and a section of the motorway was closed to allow the Kent Air Ambulance to land.

In a separate crash, a woman suffered serious injuries on the A20 near West Kingsdown on Saturday.
