Three Kent players have been named in the England women’s Ashes squad for the tour to Australia in January.

Charlotte Edwards (pictured) will skipper the side with Lydia Greenway and Susie Rowe also included.

Rowe, who also plays for Canterbury Hockey Club’s first team, made her England debut on the tour of Sri Lanka earlier this month, run out for five in the first T20 international, which England won by 17 runs, but making an unbeaten 24 in the third, helping the side to an 89-run win.

She did not bat in the second match, which England won by eight wickets.

England will play three one day internationals, a five match T20 series and a four-day Test for the women’s Ashes from January 5 to 25.

The first and second T20 matches will be played directly before England men play Australia on January 12 and 14, at the Adelaide Oval and the MCG respectively. Both matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
