Kent Spitfires are likely to keep the same starting XI who overcame Glamorgan for their FLt20 match against Gloucestershire Gladiators on Wednesday at Beckenham.

The squad will be the team that completed the six-wicket victory over Glamorgan Dragons on Saturday, along with left-arm fast bowler Ashley Shaw making up the final 12.

The Spitfires may at last have some momentum going into the game with the Gladiators after overcoming Glamorgan with two balls remaining.

Sam Northeast and debutant overseas player Wahab Riaz helped them over the line, scoring 33 not out and 32 not out respectively. The pair came together with Kent in trouble at 89-4 but Riaz’s effort from just 15 balls, which included two sixes and two fours, helped turn the game around in Kent’s favour.

Riaz said: “The debut is always an important game for anybody whether you’re playing for a county or playing for a national team, but I’m happy that I did well in the first game and I hope I can stay with it.”

Tickets for the match at Beckenham will be available on the gate.

Kent Spitfires squad: R Key (captain), J Denly, S Northeast, D Stevens, G Jones (wicket-keeper), S Billings, A Mahmood, C Langeveldt, J Tredwell, W Riaz, A Ball, A Shaw.
