Welling skipper Jack Parkinson has insisted that he is not going to let transfer speculation affect his game.

Parkinson's future has been under the spotlight since he trained at Bournemouth earlier this year.

But the Wings captain is happy where he is, despite the end of the August transfer window looming large.

"I’ve heard bits and bobs from other clubs," admitted Parkinson, who scored in Welling's 3-1 Blue Square Bet South win at Havant on Saturday.

"But I’m enjoying my football where I am and that’s why I was quick to sign on again at the end of last season.

"If it comes along great, if not then I won’t sit and worry about it. If people are interested then I’m sure they will talk to the club.

"If you can move upwards then great, if not then you still need to try and be on top of your game every week. It was good to train with Bournemouth last season but if nothing happens now then I’m not too bothered."

Parkinson, who is under contract at Park View Road, also attracted interest from Leyton Orient last season.
