A one-month-old baby taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries has been released.

The little boy, from Gravesend, was being treated at London's Kings College Hospital after being transferred from Darent Valley Hospital.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The baby has now been released from the hospital in to the care of social services and is currently with foster parents."

A 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, from Gravesend and arrested on suspicion of assault in December, remain on bail.

Officers are continuing to investigate how the injuries were caused.

Scores of people attended vigils to pray for the baby's recovery.
