A woman in her sixties needed hospital treatment after impaling herself on a garden fence.

The Kent Air Ambulance was called to Otford, near Sevenoaks, at 9:30am yesterday to attend to a woman whose arm had been speared, following a fall.

She was transferred to hospital in Farnborough by land ambulance.

A spokesman described it as a ‘soft tissue’ injury only.
