Dartford suffered their second Blue Square Bet South defeat in three days after a 1-0 reverse at Havant & Waterlooville on Monday evening.

Lee Burns headed over an early Ryan Hayes free-kick and nodded another superb Hayes set-piece back across goal, though no Dartford player could get on the end of it.

The hosts scored the only goal shortly after the half-hour as the Darts defence switched off from a throw-in allowing Sammy Igoe to fire in a low cross which Wes Fogden turned past Andrew Young from just inside the area.

Despite piling on the pressure after the break - with the visitors winning 10 second-half corners - the Darts were unable to find a breakthrough.

Boss Tony Burman (pictured) said: "We deserved more from the game. They had one shot in the first half and scored.

"We just didn’t have that cutting edge in the final third. It was not through a lack of effort."

After back-to-back defeats Darts sit five points behind ninth-placed Havant with three games remaining, though only three adrift of Bromley whom they visit on Friday afternoon.
