Gillingham will return to their popular blue and black striped shirts at the start of next season.

The club have enjoyed plenty of success in those colours over recent seasons with promotion in 1996 after the stripes were first brought back.

Since the ‘30s the club had been playing in the blue to coincide with the name change from New Brompton FC to Gillingham FC. The black stripes were worn under the previous name.

Gillingham reached the play-off final at Wembley in successive years with the blue and black stripes.

A recent supporter poll overwhelmingly voted in favour of the reinstatement of the colours.
