Gillingham goalkeeper Alan Julian described Saturday’s relegation as the lowest point of his 10-year professional career.

Julian (pictured) felt the side had nobody to blame but themselves following the 3-0 defeat to Wycombe which consigned them to League 2.

"You end up where you deserve to be and we deserved to be in the relegation zone," he said.

"This is the lowest point of my career. There are no words to describe how I feel. It’s a horrible and a sickening feeling.

"I said at half-time to the boys, ‘we’ve got 45 minutes and you need to give all you’ve got. There’s no next week - this is it - the season ends now'.

"I didn’t want to come off the pitch and you’re waiting for a miracle and the referee to start the game again or something."
