Tony Sinclair believes a team ethic will see Gillingham rise up the table and he pointed to Saturday’s win over Stockport as proof.

The central defender, pictured, returned to the back-line in the wake of conceding seven at Accrington.

"I was happy to be back in the team and just delighted for the boys to get the win after last week," he said.

"We looked disjointed last week and the main thing for us this week was to be more of a team again and get compact. I feel like we did that.

"At the beginning of the season we were doing really well and not getting the results, then started to topple but the gaffer, the management and the boys stuck in there because we know what ability we have got.

"We also have to stay together as a team. We got criticised last week and it was deserved because of the performance, but this week we have got back to being a team, back to the basics and back to working hard for each other."
