Gillingham’s on-loan defender Darren Dennehy is in the Republic of Ireland’s under-21 squad to face Armenia tonight.

Dennehy (pictured), who was born in County Kerry, has been on loan since January from Championship side Cardiff City and a string of impressive performances led him to a recall in Don Givens' international squad.

The UEFA under-21 European Championship qualifer takes place in Dublin’s Tallaght Stadium and Givens will be hoping for an improvement on his team’s last performance, a 4-1 defeat against the same nation.

Former Everton youngster Dennehy has so far been capped at under-21 level 10 times.
