NIGEL CANNON: his machine hit a wall and then a car

A 44-year-old man who died after the Harley Davidson motorbike he was riding crashed into a wall has been identified by police.

Nigel Cannon, who was married with two children, was killed shortly after 9pm on Wednesday last week in Maidstone Road, Rainham, at the junction with Rutland Road.

Police say the motorbike hit the boundary wall of a house before colliding with a Suzuki car.

The victim's 33-year-old brother, Lea Cannon, was riding pillion. He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with serious injuries and is said to be in a stable condition.

The road was closed for about five hours while officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit conducted inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information, is asked to telephone 01622 798538.
