Driver hurt as car collides with trees

A car bounced off a series of trees and landed on its roof in a crash last night.

The Seat left the road on the A251 outside Challock.

Ashford station firefighter Darren Rosewell said: "The car had hit several trees and ended up on its roof.

"We had to cut the driver free."

The accident happened at 10.45pm about 200 yards from the village entrance sign as the car was travelling from Ashford.

Four fire engines, two from Ashford and the others from the Wye and Charing stations, were called out and firefighters took 35 minutes to free the victim.

He was put on a spinal board as a precaution and taken by ambulance to hospital.
