POLICE have confirmed that they are not treating the deaths of an elderly couple whose bodies were found at their home in a Kent village on Thursday as suspicious.

The bodies of 82-year-old Albert Sprigins and his wife Audrey, who was 71, were discovered at the house in Spout Lane, Brenchley, near Pembury, just before 1pm.

According to police, they were in a state of decomposition and the head was separated from one of the bodies.

A post mortem has been carried out. Mr Sprigins died of natural causes. The pathologist was unable to determine the cause of Mrs Sprigins' death.
