A CYCLIST has died in hospital after being involved in a collision with a car on Blue Bell Hill, between Chatham and Maidstone.

Both the cyclist and car were travelling on the Old Chatham Road, a slip road, at the junction with the A229 on Wednesday morning when the collision occurred.

The bike rider, a man from the Medway Towns, was taken to Maidstone Hospital with severe injuries and later died.

The cause of the collision is being investigated by Kent Police's Serious Crash Investigation Unit.
