Rising Cliftonville star Ben Mitchell will be in the line-up for a special Children In Need concert at Margate’s Theatre Royal on Saturday (Nov 1).

The young singer will be in the top class variety show Let’s Entertain You, featuring a variety of acts including singers, dancers, comedians and magic.

Dane Court School pupil Ben, 15, has performed in the West End Live Show before a 5,000 strong audience in Leicester Square and in Fame with the Stage Coach Company at her Majesty’s Theatre, London.

He was recently the junior winner of the Granville Theatre’s Make Me A Star.

Also on the bill of professional and local talent are Star Stage School, The Wednesday Warblers, Girling Productions, Margate Operatic Society, Phoenix Performing Arts, Glinda Asprey, Alison Crowther, Brya Elliot, Steven Frazer, Kayley Weller, Christopher Thomas and The Noise Next Door.

The show is being produced by Karen Tarbuck and Alison Crowther who is also appearing, both of Thanet’s Star Stage School.

Bids are being invited for the two double boxes in the historic theatre to raise extra money for needy children.

One of the show organisers David Thompson, of Kent Charity Productions, suggested that successful bidders might like to donate a box for use by disadvantaged children if they do not want it for themselves.

Specially laid-on buses are collecting from around east Kent including Birchington, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Sandwich, Deal, Dover, Whitstable and Herne Bay. All tickets for the buses are £4 return.

Bids for the boxes can be made on 01304 380275 or by email: michael.carey@homecall.co.uk

Show tickets are £8 and £7 and can be booked on 0845 1301786 or 01227 787787.
