A BOY of 11 has died after being involved in a collision with a 4x4 vehicle on a main road.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the tragedy that happened in the high street at New Romney, near Hythe, at about 3.10pm on Thursday.

The boy was taken by the Kent Air Ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford where he was pronounced dead.

The car involved was a white Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4. The high street was closed until shortly after 7pm.

Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit are investigating this incident and are appealing for witnesses to call 01622 798538.
