Appeal after biker dies in crash

AN INVESTIGATION is being held into the death of a 41-year-old motorcyclist who was thrown from his machine after a crash with a car at Sarre village, near Canterbury.

The dead man has not yet been formally named by police but he is thought to have lived in the Ashford area.

His motorcycle was in collision with a yellow Fiat Punto driven by a young man. The accident happened shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday on the A28 which was closed for two hours near the junction of Upstreet and Grove Ferry. The Fiat driver was not badly injured.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw either vehicle to contact 01622 600970 with information. The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
