Appeal after bike rider is injured

A MOTORCYCLIST is recovering in hospital after being seriously injured in an accident on the A21 between Pembury and Lamberhurst. The rider, from Hastings, was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra van while travelling south near the A21's junction with Perch Lane at Lamberhurst Quarter on Friday.

He suffered serious injuries to his legs and was airlifted to Maidstone Hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance helicopter where he underwent surgery.

Today police described his condition as "stable". The driver of the van was unhurt.
