SECURITY guards at Ashford’s Eurostar terminal are to strike again as their dispute over pay continues.

About 10 strikers will down tools from 5.30am - 8am and 4.30pm - 6pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 8am - 10.30am and 4.30pm - 6pm on Sunday.

There will also be a strike at the Waterloo terminal.

The strikers belong to the Rail Maritime and Transport Workers Union, which is battling with their employers, security company Chubb.

RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: "We are ready to talk as soon as Chubb acknowledge the strength of feeling."

He accused the company of replacing the strikers with guards who were not properly trained, but Chubb spokesman Sean Feast insisted they were fully trained.

He said Chubb had agreed to recognise the union and made an offer on pay.

Eurostar’s head of press and events Lesley Ritallack said services were unaffected by the strike over the bank holiday weekend and that there would be no problems this time.
