Plans have been unveiled for a show to "supercharge" start-up businesses and wannabe Richard Bransons.

Details were announced yesterday at the Kent 2020 Vision LIVE expo that attracted thousands to the Kent Event Centre, Detling.

Start-up LIVE on October 24 aims to help anyone with a good business idea.

It hopes to attract young people, undergaduates, postgraduates and anyone in or out of work with entrepreneurial spirit.

More than 1,000 would-be entrepreneurs and 100 exhibitors, from banks to business advisors, are expected.

It is being run by business support agency BSK-CIC, Kent County Council, Kent Event Centre and the KM Group.

Jane Ollis, BSK chief executive, said: "Starting up a business is a really scary thing. We ask people to often take a huge cut in pay, put their house ar risk and put their family through a nightmare."

But running your own business could be a really satisfying experience, she added.

"We want to supercharge start-ups. Many of us have ideas but very few do sometying with them. If you're equipped with the skills, the confidence, ambition and drive, it's amazing what you can do.

"It's about whether you have the guts to give it a go. We want to help you do that."

The event will be run by Revolution Events, Pembury, which also ran Kent 2020 Vision LIVE.
