GRAVESEND & Northfleet manager Liam Daish admits he will have his work cut out controlling French firebrand Sacha Opinel.

Daish, who signed striker Danny Ekoku from Crawley a month ago, returned to the troubled Sussex club for 29-year-old Opinel, who can play on the left side of midfield or at left-back.

Daish said: "Sacha’s fit and strong but he’s also fiery and he’s got a temper.

"It will be up to me to control his aggression if we’re to get the best out of him. But I would rather have a player like that instead of one who needs constant motivation."

Opinel joined Crawley from Farnborough in January, 2005.

Prior to that his career had seen him play professionally in France and Greece before moving to Britain where he has had experience with Raith Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Leyton Orient.

Opinel’s arrival increases the size of the squad to 14.
