Suspension rules Skinner out of Fleet clash

MISSING OUT: Justin Skinner
MISSING OUT: Justin Skinner

GRAVESEND & Northfleet travel to Telford on Saturday looking to avenge their 2-0 defeat at Stonebridge Road in September. Justin Skinner misses the game through the first of a two-match suspension.

Matt Lee is available after suspension but he will probably miss the match through illness.

Centre-back Francis Duku, who broke a leg in a pre-season friendly at Weymouth, played the full game in Monday’s 5-1 reserve team success against Havant and Waterlooville in the Capital League Cup.

Steve McKimm, another long-term casualty who contracted tuberculosis, managed 45 minutes.

“I would think that Francis needs another half a dozen games under his belt before his returns to the first-team squad,” said Fleet manager Andy Ford. “The important thing is that they are both on the road to recovery.”

Louie Evans scored a hat-trick and Kevin Budge scored two in Monday’s win.
