Class B drugs and claw hammer found after two men from Gravesend were arrested on suspicion of stealing a motorbike in Dartford

Two men arrested on suspicion of attempting to steal a motorbike during the early hours of yesterday morning, were found with drugs and a clam hammer.

Officers on a routine patrol arrested the pair at about 2.30am on Tuesday , in The Brent, Dartford after receiving a report two men were attempted to steal the bike in Greenhithe at about 1am.

During their patrol a vehicle came to the attention of officers and two men, who are both from Gravesend and who were inside a car.

They were detained and searched and when police searched the vehicle, they found a quantity of drugs and cash. A claw hammer was also found.

One man aged 21 was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs while an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

He was also arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and both men were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

Police spokesman Vicki Foster said: "The pair have since been released under investigation pending further inquiries."
