Man survives overturned car smash

A MAN is lucky to be alive after a car flipped over and landed upside down on a fence.

Dartford firefighters were called to Westfield, New Ash Green, where the driver was hanging upside down inside the car, this morning at 12.45 am (December 28).

It took two crews 45 minutes to stabilize the car, cut off the door and lift out the driver.

The victim, believed to be 17-years-old, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with multiple injuries.

He is due to be transferred to a specialist unit at East Grinstead later today.
